UV Metrology Workshop: Evaluation of UVC Technologies for UV Radiation Disinfection (26 October 2021)

In July of 2020, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Optical Radiation Group, began a project to support the evaluation and calibration of UVC technologies for disinfection. The project was initiated to support SIM member NMIs and DIs respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.  NIST’s Optical Radiation Group have been working to provide assistance to SIM members with existing capabilities in light measurements and those with an interest in learning more about the use of these technologies.

During the workshop, event organizers will examine measurement methodologies for field measurements including measurement of excimer lamp (222 nm), low pressure mercury (254 nm), and UV-LED (~265 – 270 nm) devices. Presenters will explore ways SIM labs can introduce UVC technologies into their measurement systems.
