 In 1875, the Convention of the Metre was signed, a milestone that paved the way for global measurement harmonization. Today, the International System of Units (SI) is the foundation that supports science, industry, and innovation in the Americas.

We celebrate 150 years of comparable measurements worldwide, a key milestone for science, innovation, and development in the Americas.

Join us for the event “150 Years of Comparable Measurements in the World, a space for meeting and reflection on the evolution of metrology and its fundamental role in the advancement of science, innovation, and development in the Americas. We will explore the achievements and challenges we face to continue building a future based on reliable, traceable, and comparable measurements. 

This May 8th, we invite you to commemorate the history of metrology with us and reflect on its impact on scientific and technological advancement in the region.
