NCSLI-SIM Early Career Metrologist Award 2025

The NCSLI-SIM Early Career Metrologist Award promotes professional development among staff with less than five years of experience in metrology working at a national metrology institute within the SIM region (Western Hemisphere). This year, three winners were selected to present on publications focusing on the development of measurement capabilities within their NMIs.

These presentations were given to attendees at NCSL International’s Workshop and Symposium held in Cleveland, Ohio, from July 19th to July 23rd, 2025.

This year’s winners were : 

Darwin Choy (CENAME – Guatemala)Design of the Automation System for the Verification Processes of Water Meters at CENAME

Shaqkira Emanuel (BSJ – Jamaica)Development of a Reliable Measurement Procedure for Gauge Block Calibration Using a Manual Mechanical Comparator (2025), and 

Guillermo Schneider (INTI – Argentina)Application of Deep Learning to detect anomalies in signals generated with a Quantum Voltage Standard.
